By: Staff Report, Grand Forks (ND) Herald

Delta Air Lines officials told Gov. John Hoeven’s office this week that the passenger carrier will soon be taking reservations for flights from Bismarck and Minot to Salt Lake City.

A daily non-stop flight will begin May 3 from both cities using 50-seat regional aircraft. Effective June 10, Delta will add a second daily non-stop flight from Minot, Bismarck and Fargo to Salt Lake City, according to the governor's office.

Minot will also see a 41-percent increase in seats this summer, from four daily flights with 304 seats to seven daily flights with 428 seats. That includes two flights to Salt Lake City and five to Minneapolis–St. Paul, the news release said.

Delta will increase seats in Bismarck and Fargo this summer, as well. Bismarck will see an increase from six flights and 476 seats to nine flights and 576 daily seats. That would include two daily flights to Salt Lake City and seven to Minneapolis–St. Paul.

Delta will increase Fargo’s seats this summer from eight flights and 698 seats to nine flights and 787 daily seats, two to Salt Lake City and seven to Minneapolis-St. Paul, according to the release.
