Speich elected to North Dakota Soybean Council

FARGO — Milnor, N.D., soybean farmer, Tyler Speich, was elected March 10, 2010 to the North Dakota Soybean Council. Speich will serve a three-year term to the North Dakota Soybean Council and represents soybean producers in District II—Sargent, LaMoure, Ransom and Dickey Counties.

Tyler Speich, along with his father, operate a farm in Milnor, raising approximately 2,500 acres of soybeans, corn, alfalfa and wheat. The Speichs also operate a cow/calf operation consisting of 250 head along with backgrounding calves. Along with farming, Tyler is also a Sales Representative with Pioneer. Active within his community and county, Tyler is involved in Sargent County Farm Bureau and is currently serving on the Sargent County Crop Improvement board.

North Dakota soybean farmers across the state are represented on the North Dakota Soybean Council Board, which oversees a grass roots promotion, research and marketing program funded by soybean checkoff dollars. The Council’s mission is to create an environment through investing soybean checkoff funds to increase profit potential for North Dakota soybean producers. The North Dakota Soybean Council policies are established by a board consisting of eight soybean growers. The Council is organized by North Dakota State law.
