Grand Forks, ND, airport sets first quarter boardings record

GRAND FORKS, ND – The Grand Forks International Airport has set a 1st Quarter airline boardings record. Additional flights provided by Delta, Allegiant, Sun Country and Xtra Airways have boosted the boardings to 10,026 passengers in March. This was a 20% increase over March boardings from 2009. The total first quarter boardings were 27,880, breaking the previous record of 25,388 set back in 1994.

Executive Director Patrick Dame states: “This is one more step toward meeting our goal of 110,000 passenger boardings in 2010. We greatly appreciate the support of our customers and their use of the Grand Forks International Airport.”

In June, 2010, Delta Air Lines will start flying seven daily jet flights from Grand Forks to Minneapolis. The increased flights will provide better connections east and westbound accompanied by longer business days and shorter connection times.
