Innovis Health of Fargo plans to open a new $2.2 million family practice clinic with expanded services in south Moorhead, MN.
The clinic, to be located at 801 Belsly Blvd. just off Eighth Street South, will open early next year with four medical providers and a physical therapist.
Once completed, the clinic will replace the Innovis clinic in the Moorhead Center Mall, which has two medical providers. The location has been in service since the 1980s.
The new freestanding clinic will have almost 10,000 square feet, with plans ultimately to accommodate six medical providers – physicians or physician assistants – as well as physical therapy, Innovis administrators said Tuesday.
“It’s a growing part of town,” Peter Jacobson, Innovis’ senior vice president of clinic operations, said of the new location.
Innovis hopes site preparation work will begin in June, with completion expected between February and April.
Innovis is adding physical therapy to many of its family practice clinics as a convenience to patients.
“People need to go about every day for physical therapy when they’re having it,” said Bob Bakkum, Innovis’ director of administrative services.
The city of Moorhead has approved five years of property tax exemptions for the building.
The new clinic will retain eight positions and add six new positions, creating a new tax base of almost $1.5 million, according to documents filed with the city.
Innovis has 20 clinic locations, with about 150 physicians and 50 mid-level practitioners, such as physician assistants or nurse practitioners.
