New South Dakota aeronautics commissioner named

PIERRE, SD – State Transportation Secretary Darin Bergquist announced today that Christopher Funk has been appointed by Gov. Mike Rounds to a five-year term on the South Dakota Aeronautics Commission. The appointment was effective July 1.
Funk has been the City of Madison airport manager for the past 20 years. He is a commercial pilot, flight instructor, and aircraft mechanic/inspector. He also is the owner/operator of Madison Aircraft, L.L.C., a small fixed-based operator located at the Madison airport.
“Christopher’s insight and experience will be a good addition to the Aeronautics Commission,” Secretary Bergquist said.
Other commission members include: Buron Lindbloom, Jack Mitchell, Larry Nelson, Richard Pearson, Vernon VanDerhule, and Larry Vetterman.
