Federal grants totaling $10,589,676 to shore up transportation infrastructure needs in more than a dozen regional airports across North Dakota were awarded.
The grants would be used for a variety of purposes to shore up 14 of the state’s airports. The recipients include:
· $2,874,500 for Hector International Airport in Fargo to construct a taxiway and install a runway visual guidance system
· $2,450,000 for Bismarck Municipal Airport to rehabilitate the apron and to acquire a portable staircase
· $700,000 for Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport in Dickinson to construct a parking lot
· $600,000 for the State of North Dakota to conduct a state system plan study
· $300,000 for Edgeley Municipal Airport to construct a hangar and rehabilitate the runway
· $323,850 for Cavalier Municipal Airport to construct a service road
· $76,000 for Washburn Municipal Airport to support Phase 2 of the terminal construction project
· $150,000 for Barnes County Municipal Airport to rehabilitate the taxiway
· $403,961 for Mott Municipal Airport to support Phase 2 of the hangar construction project
· $975,000 for Hutson Field in Grafton to rehabilitate the runway
· $969,568 for Kenmare Municipal Airport to construct an Access Road extension
· $87,509 for Glen Ullin Regional Airport to update the airport master plan study
· $150,000 for Bottineau Municipal Airport to update the airport master plan study
· $529,288 for Garrison Municipal Airport to update the airport master plan study and rehabilitate the taxiway and runway pavement
These grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation with funds appropriated by Congress.
