American Airlines to begin seasonal flights between Rapid City and Chicago

American Airlines has announced that it plans to begin flying new routes throughout the United States, including seasonal flights from Rapid City Regional Airport to Chicago.

"We're excited to have them here. We have been working diligently with the airlines to establish more connections tareas in the country that are currently underserved. American Airlines offers strong connections to the Southeastern US and worldwide," said Cameron Humphres, Executive Airport Director.

American Airlines is using this and other route structure changes to better position itself in the upper Midwest and to build on its foundation and strategy for long-term successes. American, American Eagle and the

AmericanConnection airlines serve 250 cities in 40 countries with more than 3,400 daily flights.

Serving airports across America since 1930 has provided American Airlines long-term understanding and experience in providing the public with quality service. The airline has received awards throughout the world attesting to its high customer service and employee relations, including being named the Best North American Airline for the 16th consecutive year at the 2008 Business Traveler Awards.

American Airlines will begin offering twice daily flights to Chicago from Rapid City in the spring of 2010.
