Expert says South Dakota officials should direct TransCanada to protect soil in pipeline work
Expert: Protect soil in pipeline work PIERRE — State officials should direct TransCanada to pay special attention to protection and reclamation of the widely varying types of soils and vegetation along the proposed route of its Keystone XL oil pipeline through western South Dakota, a soils scientist said Tuesday. James Arndt of Minneapolis made his remarks during the second day of the state Public Utilities Commission’s hearing on the project’s permit application.
